Using AI some practical tips

Remember AI is fed and searches for available information so what is returned will not be 100% accurate 100% of the time (neither are human beings), some evidence suggests a 1 in 8 error rate.

Some examples of what it can reliably and easily be used for but is not infallible at:

searching for evidence or information on a subject (remember to ask it to provide detail of the sources used so you can verify the AI tool has interpreted the source info correctly and that the source is a reputable source)

provide and assist you with plans and planning and analysing and presenting data

write some documents for you -be specific but stick to 2-3 key asks-remember you can ask it another question to refine the first response repeatedly

Not advised:

to input commercially confidential and personal information

to use it for client, patient, service user personal information

(unless you have appropriate guardrails in place)

if you are asking it to make predictions remember it was largely be basing those on what has gone before and can produce hallucinations (unevidenced information)

In summary AI is a very useful tool in some use applications and can save hours of work but its not a panacea ie is not a solution for everything! Good luck.
